Some people assume that in order to build a physique they can be proud of, they need to spend three hours a day in the gym, every day. Not even close! Unless you plan to become a Greco-Roman wrestler, there is no need to lift for more than 30 to 45 minutes a day, three or four times a week. In fact, if you're spending two or more hours at a stretch with the barbells, you're probably doing too much or spending too much time yakking between sets.

One of the huge factors is how intensely you train, not how long. Throughout the book, we'll give you lots of tips on how to make the most of your time in the gym and how to fit lifting into your busy schedule.
