Grunt and Chid

First off, working out correctly requires concentration—on your technique, breathing, and the task at hand. It's important when you're performing any exercise—especially risky ones like squats—to concentrate on the exercise completely. In other words, you don't want to just mindlessly pick up the weight, count to 10, set it down, and move on. We'll go into this in far greater detail later, but suffice it to say for now, being mindful while you work out produces far greater results.

Second, we can't even count the number of times we've headed to the gym feeling as lifeless as an old sock and an hour or two later hit the streets as revitalized Homo sapiens. While we've experienced this Jekyll-to-Hyde switch a thousand times, the process still seems astounding. We'll talk about this more later, but you should know that the chemical effect of working out is rather heady stuff. And in fact, the natural high that comes with exercising can be quite addictive.
