WHO: Karin "Bigfoot" Neeleman
WHERE: The Netherlands
WHAT: '69 Plymouth Road Runner hardtop
Proving that Mopar devotion knows no borders is "Bigfoot's" Road Runner, which found its way to The Netherlands via Georgia and Switzerland before undergoing a 41/2-year restoration.
Instead of the original matching-numbers 383, there's a 528-inch stroker from 440Source under the A12 hood, one that's equipped with Stealth heads, an STR-14-6 intake and 6-Barrel carbs, a Comp Cams XE295HL camshaft, tti headers and Flowmaster 40 Series mufflers. He can't fuel it up just anywhere in his homeland, as fuel stations don't always have the gas needed to keep the 528's 11.6:1 compression ratio happy. The transmission's a built 727, with a SureGrip-equipped 8%-inch rear end.
The project also added torque boxes to the original unibody, R/T springs, and a pair of buckets inside to replace the OEM bench. Wheels are ConvoPros on big rubber (60-series in front, 50-series in back) all around.
