WHO: Bill Purvis WHERE: Olalla, Washington WHAT: '70 Plymouth Road Runner hardtop
Bill bought his Bird back in 1976 from its original owner, and it's stayed with him during his moves from Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Temecula, California, to the Northwest.
An original 383/four-speed car, it's now powered by a 440+6 equipped with a 284/484 camshaft and 1%-inch headers, with a 3.23 gear set in the 8%-inch rear end. All that is good for 13.90 seconds/103+ mph on the %-mile.
The B5 Blue paint on Bill's B-Body went on back in 1985, thanks to Jack Bravata in Grand Rapids, and the side "dust trail" stripes are repops of the OEM side trim. That's a functional Air Grabber hood, and the Rallyes on each corner are 15x7 inches.
Bill adds that he and Hank Chachulski (whose Plum Crazy '70 Super Bee you saw here back in September) attended many a Mopar Nationals and Car Craft Nationals together.
