Meat Poultry and Fish

While being on the Warrior Diet, you're going to crave for exactly the things you need most. After going through the Undereating Phase, people crave protein. It doesn't have to be meat or fish. It may be beans, nuts, legumes, or cheese. For active men particularly, I feel there's no substitute for whole protein that comes from organic fresh meat, especially if you trim away the fat and cook it properly. Animal proteins should always be lean.

The exception to this is fish. In principle, fish oils (fat) are very healthy. I do have some concern about them, however because a lot of fish today is contaminated due to polluted waters, and most of the toxins are in their fat tissues. Please don't misunderstand me here. Fish is an excellent source of protein. It's high in organic iodine, and is an excellent natural source of essential fatty acids (EFA's) in their most active form, EPA and DHA These EFA derivatives are essential for brain development and maintenance, and are the building blocks for prostaglandins and the hormonal system.

The least-contaminated fish, I believe, are low-fat white fish such as flounder, sole, or turbot.

Research continues to show that men who are meat eaters have much more virility, while those who are purely vegetarian have reduced testosterone levels, potency, and sperm count. Part of the reason for this is that many vegetarians simply don't know how to practice food combining and suffer from protein deficiency as well as a deficiency of certain vitamins, such as B12, and vital minerals such as zinc, calcium, and iron.
