Start on your hands and knees. Raise your leg to the side, keeping the knee bent. This exercise is great for the hips.
A variation to the Dirty Dog is to raise the leg to the rear. This will shift the emphasis from the hips to the butt.
Lift up on your toes to work the calf muscles. You can perform this exercise with one leg at a time or both together. In the illustration I raise up from a book to provide a greater range of motion. You can also hang from a stair step.
